"None of us suddenly becomes something overnight. The preparations have been in the making for a lifetime.- Gail Goodwin

Today history was made. Congratulations to Barack Obama and the beautiful First Family. After all the bs the last administration gave us, I for one, am certainly ready for a change.

{Directed by David Fincher “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is a time traveler’s tale of the people and places he bumps into along the way, the loves he loses and finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

“I was born under unusual circumstances.” And so begins ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man (Brad Pitt) who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. A man, like any of us, unable to stop time.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
has definitely lived up to all the hype. I love films that are beautifully told, i.e. American Beauty, Forrest Gump, Moulin Rouge, etc. While some films with this type of storytelling format can be boring, bland and predictable, Benjamin Button was anything but.

Nominated for 5 Golden Globe Awards and 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Button is a touching film worth seeing while still in theatres.

Another year, another round of movies coming out that I want to see. After reading this link I am definitely anticipating the following...
  • The Ugly Truth {April 3rd}~ Romantic comedy that seems perfect for your next date night starring Katherine Heigl & Gerard Butler.
  • Obsessed {April 24th}~ I'm not too excited about the storyline of this film as much as the actors. I'm a big fan of Idris Elba (if you've been living under a rock and haven't seen the series The Wire check it out asap) and in my opinion Beyonce is improving as an actress so I'm interested in seeing how she does as well.
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine {May 1st } Apparently this is the first character for the X-Men Origins series and who better than Hugh Jackman to kick things off.
  • Terminator Salvation {May 22nd}~ I'm not really into Sci-Fi but I do happen to enjoy Christian Bale's performances, my fave to date is The Prestige.
  • Up {May29th}~ Who doesn't love a Pixar film? This animated movie is sure to delight those of you who have kids or are kids at heart.
  • Land of the lost {June 5th}~ A remake of the popular 70's show but with a comedic twist à la Will Ferrell.
  • Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 {June12th}~ Denzel Washington & John Travolta go head to head in this action film remake directed by Tony Scott.
  • Public Enemies {July 1st}~ Johnny Depp playing an outlaw, what more do I need to say?
What 2009 movie will you be seeing (whether on this list or not) opening weekend?
