This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Los Angeles for the E League's "Super Saturday." E League, short for Entertainment League, is a celebrity basketball league consisting of actors, directors, producers, agents, managers, musicians and other entertainment industry insiders. Their "Super Saturday" was filled with one event after another: Championship Game, 3 Point Shoot-Out, All Star Game and Wrap Party.

I was able to attend as the representative for the Hard Rock Hotel since we sponsored the Rookie of the Year Award. The winner of this award, actor Robbie Jones from One Tree Hill, received roundtrip airfare for 2 to Vegas, hotel accommodations for 3 nights and a $200 gift certificate to any of our restaurants. Here we are during the awards presentation...

Networking is just a small piece of the pie known as the hustle. And while you don't want to get sucked into the party world and forget about your priorities, we still have to remember that nepotism reigns in this industry! So instead of complaining about how we're perfect for a part that went to the producer's girlfriend, brother, cousin, or daughter, we need to get out there and begin building relationships ourselves.
Self-producing has become pretty popular lately as actors are beginning to produce our own projects rather than waiting for someone else to do it for us. While I haven't produced anything just yet, I do still love to write so I've been tossing around a few different topics in my head that I'd like to explore. {I'll share them with you later as they start to take form} In the meantime, here is a hilarious self-produced video from the guys at Back Of The Class about the {not so} glamorous life of a Hollywood Assistant...
