One of my absolute FAVORITE,
do not miss an episode, shows is
LOST. So you can imagine the little thrill I got when I saw these pictures on one of my favorite {hilarious} blogs
Cake Wrecks.

This 3-D cake was designed by the super talented team at
Charm City Cakes aka Duff & the Ace of Cakes Crew to celebrate the 100th Episode of the popular show. Congrats guys!
Isn't it amazing what some people can do with flour, eggs and sugar?!?

One of my goals for the 2009 year is to really get serious about getting in shape both by being active and eating healthier meals. While this has NEVER been something easy for me to do {I have an affinity for sweets}, it is
necessary as a big part of pursuing an acting career is investing in my "image."
For now I've been working out at home, using my DVR to record the fitness channel as well as working out in the fitness center in my complex. But since I enjoy exercising with a group I plan to join either 24 Hour Fitness or Las Vegas Athletic Club in order to make some real progress and hopefully have fun at the same time. I've also been making a real effort towards eating healthier, well-balanced meals which means more time in the grocery store and less time in the drive-thru.
As always I will keep you all posted...but don't plan on seeing any Before & After shots- not gonna happen! :-)

{Directed by David Fincher “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is a time traveler’s tale of the people and places he bumps into along the way, the loves he loses and finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.
“I was born under unusual circumstances.” And so begins ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man (Brad Pitt) who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. A man, like any of us, unable to stop time. }

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has definitely lived up to all the hype. I love films that are beautifully told, i.e.
American Beauty,
Forrest Gump,
Moulin Rouge, etc. While some films with this type of storytelling format can be boring, bland and predictable, Benjamin Button was anything but.
Nominated for 5
Golden Globe Awards and 3
Screen Actors Guild Awards,
Button is a touching film worth seeing while still in theatres.
Another year, another round of movies coming out that I want to see. After reading this
link I am definitely anticipating the following...
- The Ugly Truth {April 3rd}~ Romantic comedy that seems perfect for your next date night starring Katherine Heigl & Gerard Butler.
- Obsessed {April 24th}~ I'm not too excited about the storyline of this film as much as the actors. I'm a big fan of Idris Elba (if you've been living under a rock and haven't seen the series The Wire check it out asap) and in my opinion Beyonce is improving as an actress so I'm interested in seeing how she does as well.
- X-Men Origins: Wolverine {May 1st } Apparently this is the first character for the X-Men Origins series and who better than Hugh Jackman to kick things off.
- Terminator Salvation {May 22nd}~ I'm not really into Sci-Fi but I do happen to enjoy Christian Bale's performances, my fave to date is The Prestige.
- Up {May29th}~ Who doesn't love a Pixar film? This animated movie is sure to delight those of you who have kids or are kids at heart.
- Land of the lost {June 5th}~ A remake of the popular 70's show but with a comedic twist à la Will Ferrell.
- Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 {June12th}~ Denzel Washington & John Travolta go head to head in this action film remake directed by Tony Scott.
- Public Enemies {July 1st}~ Johnny Depp playing an outlaw, what more do I need to say?
What 2009 movie will you be seeing (whether on this list or not) opening weekend?
Here we are. 2009 is here and ready for the taking! I am so excited about the possibilities that this year holds and plan to make the most of each and every moment. Here are a few of the items on my 2009 to-do list...

Well guys, here we are on the last day of 2008 and if you're like me you can't believe how quickly this day has come. 2008 was a year of major change for me:
- I planned my last wedding at the Chateau Polonez in early March
- Left Houston (my second home) and moved back to Las Vegas
- Had my second child (another beautiful boy) in June
- Got hired as a Catering Sales Manager at Aliante Station (my first casino gig) in September
- Created my acting blog in November
- Joined twitter {www.twitter.com/brandiford}~such an interesting phenomenon
- Started blogging about my second love~ event planning, in December {www.glitzandglamourevents.blogspot.com}
Looking back on 2008 I'm thankful for the friends I've made, the opportunities I've been given, the challenges I've overcome and most importantly, the lessons I've learned. While it's been a great year, I am eagerly anticipating the fabulous (and unexpected) things to come in 2009. And of course I'll be sure to post all about it!
So whether you plan to party in a VIP booth, give praise in your church, or stay at home with your family & friends, tonight as you ring in the new year take a moment to reflect on the great things that 2008 brought you and ponder the even greater things that 2009 will surely bring.
