THEME: Focusing On The Work!

Goals for this year- I have a lot of them both big and small but the ones below are the goals I am focused on the most...

Family
  • Spend more time with them. {Meaning a lot less time working nights}
Health
  • My target weight is 130 lbs so I've got some work to do. More important than reaching that number however, is that I want to do some form of physical activity at least 3 days per week. If I can stick to that then not only will I look better but I'll feel better too!
Acting
  • Book 5 things - TV, Film, Theatre, Commercials, WebseriesIndustrials and/or Print all count
  • Join SAG-AFTRA {The joint name of the new union once it merges}
Writing
  • Write the first draft of my feature film with Tara {1 scene down, about 25 more to go} *Didn't end up writing the one with Tara but I wrote another one so I'm still happy!
Producing
  • Produce the short film I recently wrote
  • Produce a sizzle reel for the Mitrice Richardson documentary
Community

As always I'll keep my goals posted at the top of my blog year-round and will check things off as progress is made.

    Admirable goals. I especially value your "Family" goal. With a full time job, and acting in the evenings, that is a challenge for me. How do you cope?

    I appreciate your blog directory. It has connected me to many interesting people. Thank you.

    I just viewed Ep 6 of DWP. Fun. Could you share a bit of the behind the scenes with me? How tight is your production schedule? Did you shoot all in one day? How often do you produce a series. I'd like to learn from you. I am interested in this New Media outlet for talent.

    Thanking you

    Daniel

    Daniel, thanks for stopping by! How do I cope? With prayer, family support and time management. Also, I learn more and more that it's all about balance and there will be projects that you have to turn down just for the sake of having time to yourself.

    As for DWP - we shoot when we have the money to do so. We still have 2 more episodes to go but I have no idea when they will be shot because there are hard costs that have to be paid. We generally shoot one episode in 2 days time so weekends have always worked out perfectly for us. DWP was my first project that I produced. I'm getting ready to produce a short film next which is an entirely new beast but with each experience comes more knowledge.

    If you're interested in self-producing check out my other posts under the "self-produced" or "Web/New Media" labels and if I can help answer any other questions I will.

    Good luck!
